The Nigerian champions shared the news on social media, expressing their excitement. “Touchdown in Morocco! We have safely landed and received a warm welcome from our hosts. We’re ready, focused, and excited for the journey ahead!” the team announced on X (formerly Twitter).
Led by coach Moses Aduku, the Edo Queens are set to face off in Group B against reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa, Masar FC of Egypt, and CBE from Ethiopia. Their first match is scheduled for Sunday, where they will go head-to-head with Masar FC in Casablanca.
This marks a historic moment for the Edo Queens as they embark on their first journey in Africa’s top women’s club football competition, bringing enthusiasm and hopes of a strong showing for Nigeria.
