Nollywood Icon Bimbo Manuel Claims Nigerian Actors Can’t Afford Luxury Cars from Acting Alone

Veteran Nollywood actor Bimbo Manuel has voiced skepticism about the luxurious lifestyles some Nigerian actors display, claiming that acting alone cannot finance high-end purchases like Range Rovers. During an appearance on TVC’s program Your View, Manuel suggested that many of his colleagues living lavishly may not be doing so on income from acting.

“The actors you see flaunting Range Rovers and mansions in Ikoyi are living fake lives,” he stated. “No actor in Nigeria would say he or she can buy a Range Rover from acting fees alone.”

At 66, Manuel shared that he chooses a more grounded lifestyle, focusing on a “humble and realistic” way of living. His remarks reflect a broader conversation within the entertainment industry about the authenticity of on-screen personalities and the financial realities of Nigerian actors.
