Serie A: Atalanta plan to double Lookman’s pay

Atalanta have proposed a new contract to keep Ademola Lookman at the Gewiss Stadium until at least 2027.

According to Bergamo & Sports Luciano Rota, La Dea want to double Lookman’s wages to ward off the interest of European big guns.

The reigning UEFA Europa League winners want to now pay him €3.5m a year.

The 27-year-old reportedly agreed personal terms with Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The move was however blocked by Atalanta.

Lookman is expected to be courted again by the European big guns next summer following his impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.

The Nigerian finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’or and is a strong contender to win CAF Men’s Player of the Year.

Lookman, who joined Atalanta from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig in 2022, has two years remaining on his contract.
