AFCON 2025Q: Benin Republic star may miss Super Eagles clash with injury

Vasteras of Sweden star, Matteo Ahlinvi is an injury doubt for Benin Republic’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Nigeria and Libya.

Ahlinvi picked up an injury in Vasteras’ league clash against Hammarby last weekend.

The midfielder left the pitch in the 34th minute as a result of the setback.

The extent of the injury is not known at the moment.

The 25-year-old has appeared 22 times for the Cheetahs.

Benin Republic will host the Super Eagles at the Felix Houphet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan, on Thursday.

Gernot Rohr’s side will be away to the Mediterranean Knights of Libya next week Monday.
