President Tinubu returns to Abuja after attending Arab summit on Gaza war

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria, after attending the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The summit focused on the current situation in the Middle East.

The presidential aeroplane touched ground at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 8 pm on Tuesday.

He was received on arrival by a delegation of top government functionaries led by the chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The president joined other heads of state and government of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, and the League of Arab States who attended the one-day summit.

At the summit on Monday, President Tinubu called for an end to Israeli aggression in Gaza, acknowledging that β€œthe conflict has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering,” and expressed deep concern about the humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
