Ogun LG poll: PDP raises alarm over result sheets

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State has raised the alarm over the alleged distribution of two result sheets instead of one to polling units in the ongoing local government elections in the state.

The PDP also queried the credibility of the election due to the late distribution of materials.

Election officials were said to still be collecting materials from the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission office in Abeokuta, the state capital as of 7:32 am, just minutes before the scheduled 8:00 am stipulated time for the commencement of the election.

The state party agent, Waliu Oladipupo, while speaking with newsmen, expressed worries about the development, stressing that the alleged irregularity could undermine the integrity of the electoral process.

According to him, the shortcomings would disenfranchise many voters.
