LG polls: Late arrival of electorate, election material marred Ogun election – NRM

The Ogun State chapter of the National Rescue Movement, NRM, has said the late arrival of election materials to various polling units across the state’s 20 local government areas marred the election.

Media Talk Africa reported that several polling units in the state witnessed the late arrival of electoral officers, materials and electorate.

The party’s chairman, Fayoyin Ezekiel, in a statement obtained by Media Talk Africa, berated the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, OGSIEC, for the poor arrangements.

Ezekiel described the conduct of the elections as a scam saying the electoral umpire failed woefully.

The statement reads: “Following logistics issues and late arrival of electoral materials the conduct of the November 16 elections as a scam.

“The electoral umpire has failed woefully in organising the election.”

He alleged that the outcome of the election was planned, adding that OGSIEC compromised and only carried out paymasters’ instructions.
