Miss Universe’s first runner-up, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina, has shared her opinion on respect and being liked.

According to her, being respected is more important than being liked.

Adetshina stated this while responding to a question from a judge during the finals of the 73rd Miss Universe Competition at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, early Sunday morning.

“I feel like being respected is more important than being liked. We live in a society where we often don’t feel respected because of who we are, and I feel like when you respect yourself, you respect others around you and respect is really important,” she said.

Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina emerged as the first runner-up after losing the crown to Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig.

Her exceptional performance and grace captivated both judges and audiences.
