EPL: Shaka Hislop identifies player more important for Arsenal than Saka

Former West Ham United goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop has suggested that Martin Odegaard is more important for Arsenal than Bukayo Saka.

Hislop believes that Odegaard’s absence from the Gunners was felt more on the pitch than Saka.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the retired footballer said (via TBR Football):

“Yeah I think so, to your point about Martin Odegaard, I’m not sure if this list was done two months ago, Martin Odegaard would be top, but because of the injury, you realise how important Martin Odegaard has been to Arsenal.

“We would’ve said something completely different a month or two ago.”

He added, “If Bukayo Saka is out of the team, maybe they don’t struggle as much as they have the last two weeks.”

Odegaard recently returned from injury and was instrumental in Arsenal’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Chelsea last Sunday.
