Diddy’s jail cell allegedly raided by US federal agents

The jail cell of the embattled American rapper, Diddy was allegedly raided by Federal agents in the US.

The authorities reportedly took away a bunch of privileged materials and his own writing notes meant for his legal team for an upcoming trial.

Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo made this known while accusing prosecutors of leveraging private legal writings seized from the singer’s jail cell to keep him behind bars until his May trial.

In a new document filed in Manhattan federal court, Diddy’s defence team alleged that the authorities confiscated documents that were legally privileged and should not have fallen into the hands of the prosecutors.

His lawyer told Judge Arun Subramanian that “This search and seizure are in violation of Combs’ Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights.”

Diddy’s legal team further demanded prosecutors answer who authorized the search of the singer’s cell, where personal effects and paperwork were seized.

Judge Subramanian, however, gave prosecutors until 5pm ET Monday to respond to Diddy’s lawyers and set a hearing on the matter for Tuesday afternoon.

Media Talk Africa reports that Diddy has been held in pre-trial detention since September 2024, while awaiting his trial.
