CAFWCL: Edo Queens lose 3-1 to TP Mazembe in semi final

Edo Queens suffered a 3-1 defeat against TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo in their 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League semi-final game on Tuesday.

The Nigeria champions looked to be coasting home to a historic victory following Emem Essien’s 65th minute strike.

It was Essien’s third goal of the competition.

TP Mazembe then struck with the equalising goal on the dot of 90 minutes through Merveille Nanguji.

The game went into extra time with the scoreline locked at 1-1.

Comfort Folorunsho scored an own goal in the 101 minute as TP Mazembe took the lead for the first time in the game.

Marlene Kasai converted from the penalty spot eight minutes later to put the game beyond Moses Aduku’s side.
