Bundesliga: Boniface faces spell on sidelines with injury

Bayer Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface is set for a spell on the sidelines with injury, Media Talk Africa reports.

Boniface, according to German publication, BILD, sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Nigeria this week.

The 23-year-old was in action for 87 minutes in Nigeria’s 2-1 home defeat to Rwanda in Uyo on Monday night.

The forward missed training on Thursday due to the injury.

Media Talk Africa recalls Boniface was sidelined for several months last season after undergoing surgery for an adductor injury.

The Nigerian is expected to miss Leverkusen’s Bundesliga clash against Heidenheim this weekend.

He has scored eight goals in 15 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
