Super Eagles coaching job: Oliseh declares support for Eguavoen

Sunday Oliseh has declared his support for Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen.

Media Talk Africa reports that Eguavoen took charge of the Super Eagles on interim capacity in September.

The 59-year-old guided the team through the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Super Eagles secured qualification from Group D with three wins, two draws and one defeat from six games.

The former defender’s future is however uncertain with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) still mulling the idea of employing a foreign coach.

“Austin Eguavoen is a smart guy. He is not stupid. And I also want to say that he has my full support. Because he is somebody I respect a lot,” Oliseh told News Central.

“He is somebody I struggled with, bringing glory to our fatherland. He is an honest and decent guy. Furthermore, he is my compatriot, so he has my full support.”
