Super Falcons technical adviser explains why Oshoala was left out of France friendly

Super Falcons interim head coach Justine Madugu has said Asisat Oshoala remains an integral member of his team.

Oshoala was omitted from the 20-player squad released by Madugu on Sunday for the Super Falcons’ upcoming international friendly against France.

The Bay FC striker was also not called for the team’s double header friendly against Algeria last month.

Madugu has however revealed that the 30-year-old was left out of the game against France due to a documentation problem.

“Asisat Oshoala is still an integral member of the Super Falcons, an important player in the team. She has some documentation problem in the US, that’s why we didn’t invite her for this game,” Madugu stated.

“Her visa and work permit have expired and she is working to renew them. That’s the challenge she is facing at the moment.

“She cannot leave the US pending when the documents are done. She’s not invited because of documentation problem, not because she is not good enough to still play for the team.”

The Super Falcons will face France in Angers on Saturday.
