Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has tipped Liverpool to win both the Premier League and Champions League titles this season.
Ferdinand was speaking on TNT after the Reds defeated holders Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s men are now top of the league phase with a maximum 15 points.
Liverpool are also leading the way in the Premier League with 31 points, eight more than second-placed Manchester City.
Ferdinand said: “Liverpool have put ‘the gauntlet down top’ all the other teams in Europe. They are the in-form team.
“I said before the game, Arne Slot will have wanted to see what his team could produce against a team of this magnitude.
“If I was to put money on a team who looks most likely to win the Premier League and Champions League this season, I would say it is Liverpool.”
