Transfer: Club Brugge set to bid for Onuachu in January

Belgian Pro League champions, Club Brugge are interested in signing Southampton striker, Paul Onuachu in a January deal.

According to Belgian news outlet, Voetbalkrant, Brugge want to sign the Nigeria international on a permanent transfer.

Onuachu was on the books of Club Brugge’s rivals, KRC Genk for five years before moving to Southampton in January 2023.

The 30-year-old scored 85 goals in 134 appearances for Genk.

The tall forward has, however, struggled for regular playing time since arriving Southampton.

Onuachu spent last season on loan at Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor, with the club reluctant to sell him.

He could now leave on a permanent transfer when the transfer window reopens in January.
