EPL: He didn’t say he’s not happy – Maresca rules out Chelsea star’s exit

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, has insisted said that French forward, Christopher Nkunku, has never said he is not happy with the club.

This followed rumours that the player will be joining Manchester United.

Maresca has however shut down the possibility of the France International exiting the club in January.

The Blues are third in the Premier League table and Nkunku is the club’s top goalscorer so far this season across all competitions with 10 goals.

However, the Frenchman is yet to establish himself in Maresca’s starting XI, having been sparingly used in the Premier League.

Despite this, Maresca insisted that his striker’s future remains at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Conference League clash against Bundesliga side Heidenheim this week, the Italian said, “Not at all. I spoke with Christo days ago – he did not say he is not happy.

“Absolutely [he is not for sale], yes.”

Chelsea will play Aston Villa in the Premier League at the weekend after their mid-week Conference League fixture.
