The Nigeria National League has commended both Abakaliki FC and Madiba FC for their good performance in the opening fixture of the new season.

Abakaliki FC were held to a 2-2 draw by Madiba at the Pa-Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki on Saturday.

The NNL chairman George Aluo gave the commendation in Abakaliki.

Aluo says he is hopeful of witnessing more interesting encounters this season.

“It’s equally important that I commend both Abakaliki FC and Madiba FC for the good football artistry they displayed in the season opener in Abakaliki,” Aluo told NNL media.

“We hope to see more quality football this season.”
