Super Falcons will get better before WAFCON 2024 — Onumonu

Ifeoma Onumonu is optimistic the Super Falcons will get better with more games as they continue their build up towards the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The nine-time African champions lost 2-1 to France in a friendly in Angers last Friday.

It was the team’s third outing since their participation at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris

Justine Madugu’s side defeated Algeria twice in a double header friendly last month.

Onumonu scored the Super Falcons only goal against Les Bleues.

“We had only two training sessions and despite that, we played very well. In terms of preparation, I wish we had more because with more preparation we can get more information and we can perform better,” she told Ojb Sports.

“It is only telling that when we have more time and with WAFCON in the summer, with more time to prepare, we’ll be a better team.”
