CHAN 2025Q: Home Eagles win first friendly

The home-based Super Eagles defeated Grassrunners FC 1-0 in their first friendly ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana in Ikenne on Sunday.

Substitute Papa Daniel scored the winning goal in the second half.

The home Eagles opened camping for the qualifier in Ikenne on Wednesday.

They are expected to play more friendlies before the clash with the Black Galaxies.

Ghana will host the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22.

The reverse fixture will hold one week later at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
