Yuletide: Criminals will not have breathing space in FCT — Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, announced on Tuesday that plans are underway to intensify efforts to combat criminal activities in Abuja.

Wike made the statement while inaugurating the construction of a 15-kilometre road from the Abuja-Lokoja Expressway (A2) to Pai in the Kwali Area Council of the FCT.

He commended security agencies for their ongoing efforts to improve the security situation in both the city centre and the area councils.

The minister revealed that arrangements have been finalised to distribute additional operational vehicles to security agencies. The vehicles will be handed over on Thursday to aid the fight against crime.

“This will ensure that criminals have no breathing space in the FCT, especially this December,” Wike said. “We will ensure they have nowhere to hide.”

He further thanked the security agencies for their continued dedication to the safety of the capital.

Media Talk Africa recalls that on July 5, the minister distributed 50 operational vehicles, equipped with communication gadgets, to security agencies in the nation’s capital.
