Yahaya Farouk: NYSC appeals for collective efforts in search of missing Corps member

The Director of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has appealed for collective efforts in the search for missing Corps member, Yahaya Farouk.

During his visit to residents of Ikuru town, in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, which is the host community of the missing Corps member, General Ahmed urged the youths and elders of the community to assist the security agencies in searching for the Corpers.

He again promised that his administration would continue to appeal for adequate security and welfare of Corps members at all times, noting that it is also the responsibility of residents of Corps members’ host communities to provide security and welfare packages for those serving in their domain.

“The essence of my coming is to appeal to assist us in getting the Corps member who came for National Service from another state”, he said.

In their separate responses to the Director General’s request, the Youth President of the community, Mr Etete Jerb Anthony and the Ward Secretary, Mr Paul Friday said the community has tried immensely to find Corps member Yahaya who went missing while at a Chinese Mining Company within the community.

They, however, promised that search and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
