WAFCON 2026 qualifier: Super Falcons to battle Benin or Sierra Leone for ticket

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face either Benin Republic or Sierra Leone for a place in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON, Media Talk Africa reports.

The draw for the competition was conducted on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt.

Benin Republic and Sierra Leone will compete in the first round, with the winner earning the opportunity to face Nigeria.

The two-legged first-round contest is scheduled for February 2025.

The Super Falcons will then take on the winner in the second round in October 2025.

The overall winner of this encounter will secure a spot in the 2026 WAFCON, which will be hosted by Morocco.

The tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The top four teams from Morocco 2026 will represent Africa at the World Cup in Brazil.
