Europa League: I’m focused on winning Premier league – Man United boss, Amorim

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has said that he is focusing on winning the Premier League.

The Portuguese did not rule out Manchester United Premier League title chances.

This is despite the Red Devils being 16 points behind league leaders, Liverpool, who have a game in hand against Everton.

Amorim, whose side managed a 2-1 win over Viktoria Pizen in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, told Manchester United’s official website that he has his eyes on the Premier League title and not just qualifying for Europe.

“I, as a coach, I cannot focus on just that,” he said.

“The way we can see in the future, titles or something. Our goal is to win our Premier League. That is our goal.

“Of course you can do the math and you can understand that for a big club like us to be in the Champions League is so important.

“You can see and look at the table that from the Europa League, maybe it is easier.

“You can then perhaps take this information for this context, but I am not focused on that, and our goal is to win the Premier League, not just to go to the Champions League.”
