NPFL: Finidi commends players for win over Kwara United

Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has commended his players for their overall performance against Kwara United.

The Pride of Rivers defeated Kwara United 2-1 at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Timothy Zacharia and David Benjamin’s scores for Rivers United were on target for the hosts.

Akani Akeem grabbed the only goal for Kwara United.

Finidi admitted that the encounter was tough.

“It’s been a long time since we scored two goals doing it in the game against Kwara United is good for the team, “Finidi stated in a post-match interview.

“I told them it was going to be a difficult game because last season Rivers United didn’t win so unfortunately we conceded and we had to fight back which propelled us to make two quick changes to get the win.

“We have to commend the players for the win.”
