Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has backed the duo of Stephen Manyo and Taiwo Abdulrafiu to make the final squad for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifying game against Ghana.
Manyo and Abdulrafiu are among the players invited for the game.
“I spoke with both players, and I wished them well,” Finidi told Rivers United Media.
“They will be going with 18 players, and I hope they will make the final list for the game.
“If not, we will see if we can have them back, but we will wait and hear from the federation.”
Nigeria will battle Ghana in the first leg of the qualifying match on Sunday, December 22.
The encounter will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return leg billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday, December 28.
