Adamawa: 65,000 persons each get N50,000 business support grant

A total of 65,000 people in Adamawa State have been selected to receive N50,000 each as a business support grant.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Tuesday launched the third series of his Fintiri Business Wallet, an empowerment programme supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises, MSMEs, under which the 65,000 beneficiaries will receive their packages.

The programme, which focuses on empowering youths and women to reduce poverty by boosting commerce, provides each beneficiary with the N50,000 grant to support their businesses.

In his speech during the flag-off of the grant distribution, Fintiri emphasised the importance of institutionalising poverty alleviation efforts rather than relying on occasional handouts.

Noting that the Fintiri Business Wallet has already empowered 20,000 women and youths in the state during the first two batches, the governor said the programme provides financial support to business owners and promotes family stability.

β€œToday, through this corridor, we are disbursing another N50,000 to each of 65,000 beneficiaries,” he said.

He also referenced other similar interventions, such as the NG-Cares campaign, planned to reach an additional 10,000 beneficiaries with N50,000 each, and the Government-SDG Partnership Programme, which targets liberating 1,500 vulnerable households.
