NNL: Allen promises new Gateway United team next year

Gateway United technical adviser, Festus Allen, has promised a rebirth for the club in the new year.

The Abeokuta-based club defeated Calabar Rovers 1-0 in a Matchday 3 fixture at the Gateway International Stadium, Ilaro, on Saturday.

Kabiru Popoola scored the only goal of the game.

The veteran tactician, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the missed opportunities during the match.

“I acknowledge the team’s compact performance; we had opportunities to score more than once,” Allen told Gateway United Media.

“It was a good game, but the low scoreline doesn’t reflect the flow of the match. I’m thrilled with the win, at least as a parting gift to our fans for the end of the year. For 2025, expect a rebirth.”
