Yuletide: Visually impaired persons appeal for support in Taraba

The Taraba State Chapter of the Nigeria Association of the Blind has called on the state governor, Agbu Kefas, to extend support to persons with disabilities to help make this Yuletide a memorable one.

In a statement signed by the chairman, Wanderimam Teyang, and made available to journalists in Jalingo, the association emphasized the importance of Christmas as a time of love, joy and togetherness, highlighting the need for all members of the society to share in the season’s blessings.

“It’s a period when people come together to share in the joy and magic of the season,” the statement read.

They noted that many persons with disabilities in the state are facing significant challenges during this time due to limited resources.

The association urged the governor to continue his benevolent acts by providing food items and other forms of support to ensure that persons with disabilities can celebrate the holiday with dignity and joy.

“We kindly request food items and other forms of support to enable persons with disabilities in Taraba State to celebrate Christmas with dignity.

“Your donation will bring immense joy and happiness to them and their families,” the statement added.

Citing the Biblical portion of
2 Corinthians 9:7, the association reminded the public of the value of generosity, noting that acts of kindness go a long way in fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
