Niger Pilgrims Welfare Board commences 2023 Hajj refund disbursement

The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of the disbursement of the 2023 Hajj refund to pilgrims.

This follows the receipt of a refund of N225,934,920 from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, for services not rendered during the 2023 Hajj exercise.

NAHCON Executive Secretary Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu made this known in a statement signed by Public Relations Officer Jibrin Usman Kodo. He stated that each of the 3,699 pilgrims from Niger State will receive a refund of N61,080, equivalent to 150 Saudi Riyals.

He revealed that a committee, comprising the board’s management and liaison officers from local government areas, has been constituted to oversee the disbursement process.

The Executive Secretary emphasised that the committee will ensure accountability and transparency in the disbursement process, ensuring that every pilgrim who performed the 2023 Hajj exercise receives their money.

Sheikh Aliyu also promised the timely disbursement of the funds.
