Al-Makura extends Christmas greetings to Christians, seeks prayers for leaders

Former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, has called on Christians and Nigerians at large to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and sacrifice during the Christmas season.

He stated that these values are essential for national unity and development.

In a statement issued by his press secretary, Chief Danjuma Joseph, on Wednesday, Al-Makura, who represented Nasarawa South District in the 9th Nigerian Senate, extended his heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community.

“As Christians all over the world celebrate yet another Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, it is important to preach peace, love and unity.

“As you are aware, the birth of Jesus Christ ushered in the orientation of Christian ideology which depict love, peace, good neighbourliness and sacrifice. These are the virtues which Jesus Christ preached.

“The feast of Christmas, therefore, is celebrated to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and imbibe His qualities of humility, selflessness, love, moral rectitude, among others,” the former governor stated.

He also called on citizens to offer prayers for Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and President Bola Tinubu, expressing hope for their success in delivering the dividends of democracy.
