Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has hailed Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap ahead of both teams’ Premier League clash on Monday at Portman Road.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Delap in recent weeks.
Delap worked with Maresca during their time together at Manchester City’s U-23 side.
Speaking at his pre-match interview ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Ipswich Town, Maresca branded the 21-year-old as a fantastic player, insisting that he scored 24 goals in a season.
“Liam is a fantastic player, we spent one year together. I think he scored 22 or 24 goals,” Maresca said.
“This is a very good striker – works hard off the ball, on the ball, he understands the game and he can score goals.
“Because of his age, I think he can be an important player for England.”
