EPL: Jody Morris snubs Palmer, names Chelsea’s best player this season

Former Chelsea assistant manager, Jody Morris believes midfielder Moises Caicedo has been the Blues’ best player ahead of Cole Palmer this season.

He also noted that the Ecuadorian international has been one of the top two central midfielders in the Premier League this season alongside Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch.

Caicedo joined Chelsea from Brighton for a British record transfer worth £115 million last year.

The 23-year-old struggled in his first season at Chelsea under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Caicedo has shown significant improvement under current Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca this season.

He has established himself as a key player under Maresca at Chelsea.

“If we’re talking team of the season, they’ve [Caicedo of Chelsea and Ryan Gravenberch of Liverpool] played better than anybody,” Morris said on Rio Ferdinand Presents.

“Caicedo has played better than Cole Palmer this year.

“I’m telling you, he’s been better than Cole Palmer at Chelsea. If you’re talking team of the season, who has played better than Caicedo?

“I’m just looking at pure performance, I have not seen Caicedo have a bad game.”
