EPL: Zirkzee ‘reduced to tears’ after Amorim substitutes him in 33rd minute

Manchester United striker, Joshua Zirkzee, was reduced to tears in the tunnel after manager Ruben Amorim substituted him in the first half of their Premier League clash with Newcastle.

Zirkzee was taken off with United already 2-0 down at home to Newcastle on Monday night.

The £36.5 million summer signing was hauled off in the 33rd minute, with a roar going up from the supporters as the Dutchman walked off.

Zirkzee picked up his coat from the bench and quickly walked up the touchline before heading down the tunnel.

According to beIN Sports, Zirkzee had been seen with tears in his eyes in the tunnel after being jeered by his own fans.

He eventually returned to the United bench a few minutes later holding a water bottle.
