EPL: West Ham's striker, Antonio 'grateful to be alive' after car crash

West Ham striker, Michail Antonio, has said he is grateful to be alive after spending three weeks in hospital.

Antonio has been recovering from the lower limb fracture he suffered in a car crash on December 7.

The 34-year-old left hospital on Tuesday, having undergone surgery on the broken leg.

His Ferrari was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Epping, Essex.

In a post on social media, Antonio said the experience had made him realise “just how precious life is.”

Antonio also appreciated medical staff, his West Ham colleagues, and the wider football community for the care and support he received following the incident and said he would “be back on that pitch soon.”
