‘By God’s grace’ – Rhodes-Vivour hints on contesting Lagos guber in 2027

The 2023 Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has expressed interest to contest the governorship election in the state come 2027.

Rhodes-Vivour said by God’s grace he might contest for the governorship seat in 2027.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, the former LP candidate said he has not given up on becoming the governor of Lagos State.

Asked about the chances of running for governor, Rhodes-Vivour said: “By God’s grace, yes.

“I believe that if all parties do not come together, it is going to be a waste of time running in 2027 because there is a full state capture happening in this country now.

“We cannot afford for the opposition to be separate. For now, my job is to ensure that I have a strong party – Labour Party.”

In 2023, Rhodes-Vivour came second in the governorship election behind Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He polled 312,329 votes behind Sanwo-Olu who had 762,134 votes.
