NPFL: Ideye slams agents for sending Nigerian players to lesser leagues

Former Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye has expressed dismay at the increasing trend of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, players leaving the country for lesser-known leagues.

Ideye said the move is detrimental to their future career prospects.

The Enyimba forward reacted to the transfer of Remo Stars right-back Sodiq Ismail to Albanian, club FK Partizani.

Sodiq was one of the standout performers in the NPFL last season.

“It’s really sad how all these agents ship out our young stars to start their careers. Are they really thinking of the future of the players?,” Ideye wrote on X.

“It’s better to start in a second division club in France, Spain or Germany where you can easily be seen by other top clubs.”
