EPL: Angriest day of my career – Postecoglou furious over Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou says he has never been so angry in his entire career after watching his team fell 2-1 to Newcastle United on Saturday.

Spurs took the lead through Dominic Solanke’s diving header but Newcastle equalised through Anthony Gordon two minutes later.

A pass from Lucas Bergvall hit Joelinton, with the forward appearing to have handled the ball but the goal was not ruled out by VAR.

This caused some unhappiness and disappointment on Tottenham bench.

Alexander Isak returned Newcastle’s lead in the 38th minute, and Spurs could not find the equalizer.

Postecoglou hailed his team’s “fantastic performance”, suggesting the defeat was not fair.

He said via football.london,
“Considering everything we had to go through and the situation we are in right now to put on a performance like that, I take my hat off to the players.

I thought they were outstanding. I’m just really, really angry, angriest I think I have ever been in my career that they were denied the right rewards for a fantastic performance.

“I’m shattered the boys didn’t get the rewards they deserved because we were outstanding…”
