Football matches cancelled in UK over bad weather [Full list]

Several football fixtures in the UK have been cancelled due to severe weather.

There were amber weather warnings after snow and freezing rain in the North West of the country overnight.

It led to runways at the Manchester and Liverpool airports being closed on Sunday morning.

The Met Office warned ice would be a hazard in places, leading to concerns over the state of pitches and fan safety.

Chesterfield’s League Two clash with Gillingham became the first EFL casualty on Sunday morning, with Fleetwood Town v Wimbledon soon following suit.

However, the huge Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield would “go ahead as planned”.
