Kaduna: Gov Sani’s aide, Rachael Averik alleges assassination attempt

The Special Assistant on Political Affairs to the Governor of Kaduna State, Rachael Averik, has allegedly escaped an assassination attempt in Southern Kaduna.

Rachael disclosed this in a statement on her verified Facebook page and ‘Kaduna Political Affairs’, a popular forum where politicians and other citizens air their views.

“The incident occurred between Tsauni Majidadi and Gani villages in Sanga Local Government Area, while she was on her way to Gwantu after visiting Arak Chiefdom for a condolence visit and commissioning a hospital built by Alh. Muhammad Umar Numbu,” the statement said.

She stated that one of the police officers accompanying her and the driver were injured in a gun battle with the assailants, who opened fire on their vehicle.

The Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, could not pick his calls, and did not respond to text message sent to him for confirmation of the incident.
