EPL: Slot names two Man Utd players who ‘affected’ Alexander-Arnold in 2-2 draw

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot, has insisted that Trent Alexander-Arnold was not affected by speculations linking him to Real Madrid, as they played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

Slot, instead, claims that the England defender was up against the Portugal duo of Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

Alexander-Arnold endured a torrid evening against United and was responsible for the two goals his team conceded.

The performance came in a week, where there were reports of a bid from Madrid for him.

But Slot said: “I don’t believe in those things, but I think nine out of 10 people will tell you that it affected him.

“But I’m one of the 10 that tells you that I don’t think that affected him.

“What affected him is that he had to play Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot, who are two starters from Portugal, great, great, great players.”
