Serie A: Baroni defends Dele-Bashiru’s early substitution against Lazio

Lazio manager, Marco Baroni, has insisted that Fisayo Dele-Bashiru needs to do more after the Nigerian’s poor display in Sunday night’s 2-0 loss to AS Roma.

Dele-Bashiru was replaced by Senegal international, Boulaye Dia, after the break.

The midfielder impressed in Lazio’s 1-1 home draw against Atalanta before the New Year.

The 22-year-old was however no where his best against Claudio Ranieri’s side.

“The club and director are looking around, but we are also at the same time trying to improve the players we have,” Baroni told DAZN.

“Dele-Bashiru is still learning the position and how to control the ball between the lines. We are also missing Matias Vecino for a long time, but that must not be an alibi.”
