He said he was more concerned over the prolonged incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

According to him, “our stand has always been so clear; we want an Igbo nation that will grow in leaps and bounds, and Igbo nation where we will experience economic expansion.

“We want to make renewed demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We are shocked that our leaders did not make that a priority when President Bola Tinubu visited Enugu State.

“The problem we have always had is where politicians want to hijack Ohanaeze for their selfish motives; we shall continue to resist it.

“As I thank Igbo youth youths for the confidence reposed in me, my assurance is that I would work for the collective interest of the region.”

It could be recalled that Okwu served for four years after which he was re-elected for another term.
