EPL: Elon Musk ‘interested’ in buying in Liverpool

Errol, the father of Elon Musk, has claimed that the billionaire business wants to buy Liverpool.

However, he is concerned that the current owners Fenway Sports Group, could hike up the price of the Premier League club.

Elon, who already owns Tesla and X, is worth around £340billion.

He is keen to invest some of that wealth into the Merseyside outfit.

However, Musk’s father added that there are concerns that FSG will try to get more money out of the world’s richest man if it came to a possible sale.

When asked on Times Radio if his son wanted to buy Liverpool, he said: “I can’t comment on that, they’ll raise the price!

“Oh yes, [he has expressed a desire], but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it.

“He would like to yes, obviously. Anybody would want to – so would I.

“His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a few of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool you know.”

FSG took over from George Gillett and Tom Hicks in 2010 and Liverpool now reportedly valued at £4.3bn.

But Musk is worth 80 times more than that. If an offer came the club’s way, they may have to consider it.
