Naira appreciates against dollar first time this week

The naira appreciated against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market for the first time this week.
FMDQ data showed that the naira gained N0.47 at N1,541.23 per dollar on Thursday from N1,541.70 traded the previous day.

Meanwhile, the naira remained stable at N1,660 per dollar on Thursday, the same exchange rate recorded the previous day.

The development comes as the CBN on Thursday announced an immediate suspension of approvals for the extension of repatriation of export proceeds.

Media Talk Africa recalls that in the past three days of this week, the naira has continued to dip against the dollar.
