FA Cup: Maresca lists four players to miss Chelsea vs Morecambe, updates on James, Lavia

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has confirmed that four of his players Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Keirnan Dewsbury-Hall and Aaron Anselmino will miss his side’s FA Cup third round tie with Morecambe on Saturday.

Maresca also provided the latest update on Reece James and Romeo Lavia.

The Italian noted that both James and Lavia are set to be included in the Chelsea squad to face the League Two side at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca’s side head to the game following a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in their last game.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Maresca said:

“Yes Reece and Romeo are both available and hopefully they can get some minutes for tomorrow’s game.

“The rest are all available for selection other than those that were already injured from before. Benoit Badiashile and Wesley [Fofana] are out and Keirnan [Dewsbury-Hall] is still injured, so he won’t be involved.”

He added, “No, we won’t see Aaron [against Morecambe]. It’s still too early for him and the plan is to get him into condition to get him some minutes in the future, but not now.”

Chelsea have won the FA Cup eight times in the past.
