Benue State government has completed the take over of Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) club, Honey Badgers.
The state government has also secured the approval of the NWFL to rename the club Benue Queens FC.
Benue Queens will now make their maiden appearance in the NWFL.
They will compete in Group B of the 2025 NWFL season.
Benue Queens are grouped alongside former champions Rivers Angels, Naija Ratels, Adamawa Queens, Ibom Angels, FC Robo Queens, Bayelsa United and Delta Queens.
The new season will commence on Wednesday, January 15.
