Nnamdi Kanu: Southeast govs can’t be trusted – IPOB lawyer, Ejimakor

Aloy Ejimakor, the lead Counsel of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has hinted that the Southeast governors can’t be trusted following failed past promises.

Ejimakor accused the Southeast governors of owing the region a debt six months after failing to fulfill their promise to push for Kanu’s release and end insecurity in the region.

He recalled how Southeast governors promised to meet with Tinubu on Kanu’s release.

In July 2024, five Southeast governors had revealed plans to meet with Tinubu to discuss all pressing issues affecting the zone.

The governors also said plans are in top gear to secure the release of Kanu.

This was contained in a communique read by the Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma at the end of the Forum’s meeting in Enugu.

According to Uzodinma, the governors also resolved to discuss other issues ranging from security, to economy with the President.

Governors at the meeting include, Francis Nwifuru, Ebonyi, Alex Otti, Abia, Chukwuma Soludo, Anambra, and Peter Mbah, Enugu,

Reacting, Ejimakor posted on X: “Dear SE Governors: You appeared trustworthy in July 2024 when you publicly promised to meet with Pres. Tinubu on the release of MAZI NNAMDI KANU.

“Six months later, you’re yet to redeem that promise. Remember that a promise is a debt & SE yearns for a prompt end to the insecurity.”
