Super Eagles: NFF boss Gusau rallies support for Chelle

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau has rallied support for newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.

The NFF announced Chelle’s appointment on Tuesday.

The soccer house has been widely criticised for the choice of the Malian.

Gusau has however begged soccer loving Nigerians to support the gaffer.

He said the NFF will ensure Chelle succeeds on the job.

“We appreciate the fact that Nigerians are very passionate about the game of football, and that is the reason for the different tones of reactions following the appointment of Coach Chelle,” he told thenff.com.

“However, the NFF hereby appeals to Nigerians to come together and support him, as we believe he has the qualities to achieve success with the Super Eagles.

“The NFF will give him all the support that he needs to succeed in the job.”

The 47-year-old will be unveiled by the NFF in Abuja on Monday.

The former Mali defender is expected in Nigeria today with his three assistants.

Chelle quit his role with Algerian club MC Oran to take charge of the Super Eagles.
