Eric Chelle pens emotional farewell message to MC Oran

Eric Chelle has penned an emotional farewell message to Moloudia Oran of Algeria, Media Talk Africa reports.

The 47-year-old has left his role as head coach of the former Algerian champions to pitch tent with Nigeria.

Chelle took charge of the Moloudia in October 2024.

Under him, MC Oran won two, drawn one and lost four games.

The former RC Lens player has a clause in his contract which allows him to join a national team.

The erstwhile Mali international was appointed Super Eagles head coach this week.

Chelle’s last game in charge of MC Oran was Saturday’s Algerian Cup clash with ES Setif.

MC Oran won the keenly contested encounter 1-0.

He took the social media to thank the club and supporters for their massive support throughout his reign in charge of the team.

“After a nice adventure with MC Oran, I announce today the end of my journey with the club. This decision has not been an easy one to make, but it is in mutual respect and for the good of all parties,” Chelle wrote on Instagram.

“I wish you all the best for the future, and I will continue to follow the MCO with affection. Oran and the Mouloudia will always remain in my heart.

“I also thank my agent for his professionalism and companionship throughout this journey.

A huge thank you to you, the supporters, for your passion, energy and unconditional love for this legendary club.

” And finally, to the Algerian people, who welcomed me with incredible generosity and warmth. I keep from this experience unforgettable memories and only good moments.

“I wish all the best for the future, and I will continue to follow the MCO with affection. Oran and the Moloudia will always remain in my heart.”

Chelle will be unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, in Abuja on Monday.

His first assignment will the 2024 African Nations Championship which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
